How to cancel SoundCloud by mail

Get your account details together
You will need the email address on the account, the plan name and, if you can find it, the billing partner shown on your latest statement. Use exactly the details SoundCloud holds, so the request can be matched to your account.
Write the cancellation request
Postbye drafts the request in German, the language of Germany, with “Betreff: Kündigungsanfrage – [your name]” as the subject line. It asks SoundCloud to close the subscription, stop billing and confirm in writing.
Send the letter by certified mail
Take the letter to the post office and ask for certified delivery to 10115 Berlin. Keep the tracking number it gives you.
Keep the delivery receipt
The receipt dates your request. Look at your next statement for any SoundCloud charge after that date.

With Postbye, steps 2 to 4 take about two minutes of your time.

Cancelling a streaming or entertainment subscription

Streaming plans renew silently each month, and many are billed by a partner such as an app store or a TV provider rather than the service itself, so the request has to reach whoever actually bills you.

A phone call leaves nothing behind; a letter leaves a copy, a date and a delivery receipt.

SoundCloud lets you cancel directly (online: SoundCloud website > Subscriptions page > 'SoundCloud Go' or 'SoundCloud DJ' tab). A letter is the fallback that leaves a dated record when the direct route fails.

SoundCloud cancellation questions

Where do I send my SoundCloud cancellation letter?

Address the letter to SoundCloud, Rheinsberger Straße 76/77, 10115 Berlin, Germany. The database also lists a second address, in London, United Kingdom; the letter goes to the one above.

What should I check before I cancel SoundCloud?

For a streaming or entertainment subscription: bundles and add-on channels can be billed separately from the base plan. Ask for every line to be cancelled.

Which language is my SoundCloud letter written in?

German. SoundCloud's address is in Germany, so the letter is prepared from the German template under the subject line “Betreff: Kündigungsanfrage – [your name]”.

What do I need to cancel SoundCloud?

Have the email address on the account, the plan name and, if you can find it, the billing partner shown on your latest statement to hand. The details in the letter need to match what SoundCloud has on file.

Will SoundCloud confirm my cancellation?

The letter asks SoundCloud to end the account, stop further charges and confirm in writing, but a reply is not guaranteed. What you can rely on is the delivery receipt: it shows the date SoundCloud received the request. If a charge posts after that date, quote the receipt with your copy of the letter.
