How to cancel UNHCR Switzerland by mail
Find your account details
Start with your donor or supporter number, the name on the donation and the amount and date of the latest payment, so the request to UNHCR Switzerland names the right account the first time.
Prepare the letter
Postbye drafts the request in German, the language of Switzerland, with “Betreff: Kündigungsanfrage – [your name]” as the subject line. It asks UNHCR Switzerland to close the subscription, stop billing and confirm in writing.
Mail the letter with a receipt
Mail the letter by certified mail to the Bern address in the next section, and keep the tracking number.
Keep the delivery receipt
The receipt dates your request. Look at your next statement for any UNHCR Switzerland charge after that date.
With Postbye, steps 2 to 4 take about two minutes of your time.

Before you cancel UNHCR Switzerland, check these
- Ask the organisation to confirm the end date in writing.

Several states set rules for subscriptions that renew on their own. See what yours requires in automatic renewal laws by state.

Cancelling a regular donation
Regular donations run until the donor ends them, so a written request should give the donor reference and ask the charity to stop the payment and confirm the end date.
A phone call leaves nothing behind; a letter leaves a copy, a date and a delivery receipt.
