Phoenix New Media is based in China, so the letter goes out in Chinese, built from our Chinese template. Subject line: “主题：取消请求 – [your name]”. It asks for the subscription to end, for further charges to stop and for written confirmation.
Mail the letter with a receipt

Hold on to the receipt
Once the letter is delivered, the date on the receipt is the date Phoenix New Media was told. Compare it with your statements over the next billing cycle.
With Postbye, steps 2 to 4 take about two minutes of your time.

Before you cancel Phoenix New Media, check these
- Use the same name and email as on the account. A mismatch can delay the request.
- Check your next statement: no charge should appear after the cancellation date.
- Look for annual or multi-month plans. A plan paid in advance usually runs to the end of the period you paid for.
Several states set rules for subscriptions that renew on their own. See what yours requires in automatic renewal laws by state.
