What if the company says it never got my letter?
Short answer
Send the company your signed delivery proof and the copy of your letter. The proof shows who signed for your letter and on which date, which is exactly the record certified mail exists to create. Tell us as well, and we follow up with the company.
What to send the company
- The signed delivery proof from our email.
- The copy of your letter, attached to the email we sent on the mailing day.
- The tracking number, so they can look it up themselves.
- A short request to confirm the cancellation from the delivery date and to refund any charge made after it.
Why the record matters
Return Receipt is the post office’s evidence of delivery: to whom your letter was delivered and the date. A letter in a plain envelope leaves nothing to point to. A signed one does.
