How do I track my letter?
Short answer
We email you the tracking number on the day your letter is mailed. Follow it on your order page, which moves from Printed to Mailed to Delivered, or enter the number on USPS.com.
Where to find your tracking number
Your order email has a link to your order page. On the day your letter goes out, we send a second email to say your letter is in the mail, with the tracking number, a link to follow it and the expected delivery date.
A copy of your letter is attached to that email, so you have it for your records.
What each stage means
- Printed: your letter is printed and ready for the mail service.
- Mailed: your letter is in the mail and on its way to the company.
- Delivered: the company received your letter. For certified mail, the signed delivery proof follows by email.
When tracking seems slow
Tracking updates when the post office scans your letter, so a day or two without a new scan while it is in transit can happen. If you are unsure, write to support@postbye.com with your order reference and we check it for you.
If the letter comes back
If the post office returns your letter, your order page says so. We check the company’s mailing address and email you the next step.
Letters to companies outside the United States
These go by local post in the company’s country. Your order page shows the mail service used for your letter.
