Postbye vs PostalForm: send a cancellation letter by certified mail online

PostalForm is an online print-and-mail service with no account needed: you upload a PDF or type a letter, enter the addresses, and it mails it through USPS. Its pricing page lists a one-page letter from $3.40, with Certified Mail adding $8.00 and an electronic return receipt another $3.00. Its cancellation directory has guided letters for seven gyms and a few other cases, and elsewhere you enter the recipient address yourself. Postbye does one job: you pick the company, and we write your cancellation letter, address it from our database of company mailing addresses and mail it by certified mail with return receipt the next business day. PostalForm’s terms say it does not guarantee delivery by a specific date or at all.

Whether a physical letter is sent
Yes. One printed letter goes through the mail to the company’s mailing address. It works for any company you can write to.
Who writes the letter and finds the address
We do. Pick the company and we write your cancellation letter. It goes to the company’s mailing address from our database, or to its dedicated cancellation address when it has one.
    Certified or registered delivery
Yes. Certified mail with return receipt, so you can show who received your letter and on which date.
    Guarantee

  • PostalForm

    How the cancellation is delivered
You prepare the document: the pricing page says “Upload a PDF or write a letter in the browser; no account is required for an ordinary one-off checkout.” The delivery times page says “Production and carrier handoff usually takes 1-3 business days” and that “most First Class letters arrive 4-7 business days after you order”.
Whether a physical letter is sent
Yes. The home page says “We print, envelope, and hand your letter to USPS”.
Who writes the letter and finds the address
Partly, for a short list. Its cancellation directory has guided letters for seven gyms and a few other cases, such as ADT, timeshares and newspapers, and says “The guides prefill a published address only where the source names one.” Its gym cancellation form says “Enter the recipient address during checkout.” Its cancellation letters topic lists two forms, for solar contracts and vehicle service contracts.
    Certified or registered delivery
Yes, as an extra. The pricing page says “Certified Mail adds $8.00; Electronic Return Receipt adds another $3.00.” It adds that “Certified Mail alone does not include a downloadable return-receipt signature record”.
    Guarantee
No delivery guarantee. The terms say “We do not guarantee that a mailed item will be delivered by a specific date or at all.” Once printing has started or the letter is with the carrier, the order is “generally non-cancelable and non-refundable”, except where the law requires or the error was in PostalForm’s own printing, processing or fulfillment.
    How you pay
Per letter, and the pricing page says no account or subscription is required for one letter. A one-page black-and-white letter starts at $3.40 by First-Class Mail, $11.40 by Certified Mail, or $14.40 by Certified Mail with an electronic return receipt. Color printing and extra pages add to the price, and the exact total shows before you pay.
