What this means when you cancel
Start with the contract you signed
Start with the paper you signed. List its length, its notice period and the address for notices, then read the matching points of the Maryland law so you know where you stand.
Write the statute into the letter
Refer to Md. Code, Com. Law sections 14-12B-01 to 14-12B-06 by name, say plainly that you are cancelling under it and ask the club to confirm the cancellation in writing.
Post the letter by certified mail
Use certified mail, not a regular stamp. You want a postmarked receipt and a delivery record that you can show if the club says it never received your notice.
Save every document
Keep your records until the last charge has cleared. If a payment still goes through afterward, show the club your proof and, if needed, your bank.
A short, dated, written notice that cites Md. Code, Com. Law sections 14-12B-01 to 14-12B-06 gives you a clear record in Maryland.
Send your cancellation by certified mail
Tell us the company you want to leave. We write a formal cancellation letter, mail it by certified mail the next business day and send you the delivery proof.
