What this means when you cancel
Set the contract beside the law
Open your signed contract and mark its notice period, its end date and where notices go. Hold those against the Pennsylvania statute so you know which rule gives you the earliest exit.
Say which law you rely on
Name Health Club Act, Act of Dec. 21, 1989, P.L. 672, No. 87, sections 3 and 4 in your letter and say which right you are using, such as the cancellation period or a condition the statute lists. A club that sees the statute named knows you have read it.
Mail it with a receipt
Use certified mail, not a regular stamp. You want a postmarked receipt and a delivery record that you can show if the club says it never received your notice.
Hold on to your records
Do not throw anything away yet. Store the contract, your letter, the mailing receipt and any confirmation until you have seen a statement with no further charge.
If the club ignores your Pennsylvania notice, your proof is the record you will need for a refund request or a card dispute.
Send your cancellation by certified mail
Tell us the company you want to leave. We write a formal cancellation letter, mail it by certified mail the next business day and send you the delivery proof.
