What this means when you cancel

  1. Set the contract beside the law

Before you write, gather the contract and any renewal notices. Compare their dates with the Minnesota rules above, and use the deadline calculator to count the days.

  2. Put the citation in your notice

Write the statute into the letter by its citation, Minn. Stat. sections 325G.23 to 325G.25 and 325G.60, and state the date you are cancelling from. Keep the wording short and calm. Our letter template shows the layout.

  3. Mail it with a receipt

Take the letter to the post office and send it by Certified Mail. Ask for the receipt, keep it with your copy of the letter and note the tracking number.

  4. File your copies and watch your statements

Hold on to every document, including the delivery record, until the club has stopped billing you.

Write down the date you mailed your Minnesota notice. Dates matter more than anything else in a cancellation.

Send your cancellation by certified mail

Tell us the company you want to leave. We write a formal cancellation letter, mail it by certified mail the next business day and send you the delivery proof.
